20 Images Of Home Decor & Furniture That’ll Give You Flashbacks To Your Youth!

Looking back at some of the hideous decor in my mum and dads house when I was younger makes me glad that fashions change so often. When I was really young we had a carpet called ‘Autumn Leaves’ I’m sure you can imagine what it looks like already and how busy it made our already crammed living room look like. Here’s a reminder of what our homes used to look like in the 70s & 80s! I hope this brings back some good memories for you ? Enjoy! And don’t forget to share this with your friends if you enjoyed it!

1. A Radiogram.

Now these really were the bees-knees. With a radio on one side and a record player on the other side the possibilities really were endless.

Apart from playing music on them, these were a proper piece of furniture. I remember we put lots of family photos on top of mine.

2. Stereogram.

I don’t know what we were thinking in the 70s & 80s. Looking back at this makes me laugh, they’re almost as big as pianos!

I was absolutely gutted when my favourite Duran Duran record got scratched and I couldn’t play it anymore! Imagine having one in your house still- I bet loads of people still do.

3. Gas Fires.

A lot of people still have gas fires in their home, they used to keep us nice and toasty long before central heating and double glazing.

We used to have one of these in our back room, it reminds me of sitting in with my family on a Saturday night.

4. Washing machines that looked like this.

We had one of these tucked under our work surface in the kitchen, then whenever we wanted to use it we had to wheel it out, which was pretty inconvenient actually!

Look at the state of this compared to what they look like now.

5. Pouffes.

Now although these things looked pretty comfy, they were far from it! I was the youngest in the house so whenever we ran out of chairs or couch space I had to sit on one of these.

We had a black and red one of these- very 70s!

6. Telephone Seat.

Although these looked a little strange they were actually really useful. Back in those days you couldn’t move around with the telephone so if you didn’t have one of these you could have been stood up for hours.

However these had a handy little seat as well as table to put your phone on!
